Happy, happy Wednesday! It is a rainy, drizzly day here……….. perfect for chocolate milk!!! And Cookies! I think I will be baking cookies with Charli again during quiet time today, after I finally get a shower in today!! I love days like this. I love them because they make you slow down just a little. Yes, it is annoying to have to take the garbage out, or shuttle kids to school. But it is more cozy and if you just listen to the rain for a minute…… ahhhhh so beautiful.
My friend Stacey has been waiting for this recipe and I am really excited to share it today! I love this recipe, I use it all the time! I will make a big cup of it with the intent of it lasting awhile and it never does. It has a deep chocolate flavor, not so much a super sweet flavor. I really enjoy that more, sometimes you can lose the chocolate flavor if its too sweet.
Super simple! I mean really super simple ! Three ingredients! That is it!! Do you know how many ingredients are in mixes in the store? More than three I can promise that! AND this is extremely inexpensive to make.
Three ingredients! Just Sugar, Cocoa and Salt!
Mix these amounts: 1 cup cocoa powder, 2 cups granulated sugar, and 1/2 tsp salt.
I add those to a giant sieve and push it through. I think it is important to do that, cocoa tends to clump. You do not want clumpy cocoa!
Pour in a nice jar! Keep in your pantry! See I told you! SOOO EASY!!! I use 1 tablespoon per cup of milk. You can use less or more according to your taste! Little side note, do not put it in an old pickle jar, I do not care how many times you scrub out that stinker, the lid will still have pickle smell. AND trust me, pickle chocolate milk… Not good………at all!
I have found that when I make the chocolate milk, it is best to put your scoop in your cup and add about a tbsp. or two of hot water and swirl or stir it so that it dissolves. then add your milk and stir again.
MIKEY LIKES IT!! Do you remember that old Life commercial? I think it is so funny to say that when Mikey really likes something!!
That is it! I told you! super simple and super delicious! You may want to stir it up again if you let your chocolate milk sit for a bit, as with any mixture! I hope you try it and I would love to hear what you think! I originally found this recipe on pinterest ( love that place!)It is from a blog called Sugarbananas.blogspot.com You can see the original recipe Here!
Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope your day is super and wonderful!
Messy moment:
Have you ever had unexpected guests for dinner? We were having left over soup last night and fresh rolls for dinner, my niece and nephew decided to stay for dinner and I was worried there would not be enough soup! So what do you do? I fed all the kids first and gave them more of the yummy chunky stuff of the soup (we had the kids favorite Kale Soup, recipe is here!) But I gave them as much of the potatoes and kale and then I quickly chopped some more potatoes ( really thin!) and some kale and added that to the broth. I cooked that while the kids ate their first servings! IT totally worked! There was plenty to go around and even some left over for Mike to have for lunch! YAY!! So in a crunch, utilize your broth!!
SMILE BOOK!
Charli asking everyone to be quiet this morning, she wanted to hear the rain…………… I was so happy she asked that! She is only three!
The kids all coloring and or eating crayons so I could get this posted this morning! Ha!
My 1950’s pjs that are comfy and ridiculous looking!
Homemade Rolls!
MY WINDOWS ROLL UP! I am still thrilled about it! Especially after the rain today!

This is so great! Since the weather is starting to get cooler, we were just talking about making our own hot cocoa since a lot of the store bought stuff is full of junk. This is super simple and something we can make a batch of and store it for a while!! YUM!

The kids loved this! I blended all of them in the mixer so the milk was foamy, a little like a shake.
