Happy, happy, happy Tuesday everyone! Phew….. feels so great to type those words! I hope you are having a great day! I am so excited to be blogging again! I know that having a new baby takes time… It always takes time to get used to a new normal! This time has been much harder than normal! But, we are learning~ I am excited to be here today, and I am sharing 5 tips on pumping! So if you just want a little info on how we are doing or pumping tips…. keep reading!! You are in the right place!
Hinckley is home and doing well! He is up to 8lb 11oz!! Happiness!! He was born 8lb 2oz, and he is now two months old! It is just taking this little guy a long time to gain weight! Hinckley was losing weight until he was about 9 weeks old, he was then hospitalized for 6 very long days so we could figure out why. He has acid reflux and had it quite bad. We now have that a little better under control, and he is back home! Sweet baby! That stay in the hospital was long and exhausting. I am so grateful for all of you who helped with your prayers, sweet messages and those who brought dinner to my family, came and help Hinckley so I could go home and hug my other kids, and take a blessed shower! Oh showers are amazing when you are emotionally spent!
I will do a post on that later! But Thank you all of you! Today I just wanted to get back on the saddle. I have been trying to make a perfect schedule of blogging and sleeping and pumping and nursing and cooking dinner, and cleaning house, and playing with kids, and date nights and laundry….. oh my word the laundry! Haha! there is no perfect schedule! So we are day in and day out figuring out what works and what doesn’t. Leaning back just for a minute while pumping at 3 am does not work! You will wake up with a soaked bed and breastmilk all over the place and your pump still trying pump the side of your boob! Needless to say, i make sure I stay upright!
There are few tips I want to share about pumping if you ever need to do that!
1. Have a huge glass of Water or something to drink! I find myself soooo thirsty while nursing and pumping!
2.Have a hands free pumping bra, if you don’t have that use some sturdy pillows for under your arms, they will get super tired holding those flanges up for 20 min!
3.Set a timer, do not depend on your memory. I will start pumping and say okay it is 1:15, I can stop at 1:35 and then two min later I am thinking oh now what time do I stop again?
4.Have a good show on tv, It is too hard to read, even playing on the phone is a little hard, I like to have some good tv to watch. I start it and then turn it off as soon as I am done pumping and then the next time I pump I am looking forward to those 20 min.
5.Relax, I try not to look at how much I am pumping. I just visualize full bottles, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. Hinckley nurses also, we are on a schedule of nursing and then pumping on demand and also pumping every two hours. So for me, it varies as to how much I can pump.
I am grateful to be able to pump and nurse! We are supplementing with formula, to hopefully boost his caloric intake and it seems to be working for little Hinckley. I am just so grateful he is home and growing!
I know babies should not sleep in big fluffy beds like this! I just had to take a picture! He was hanging out while I made the bed and he just looks so tiny!! I love it!
Hinckley is such a blessing such a joy to our family! I am so grateful again for all your prayers! Please keep them coming! He still has a lot to gain to be on track and I know prayers make a difference! Heavenly Father has truly blessed us. On a side note, how cute is a tiny baby in a big bed… okay now I want to go and take a nap…. haha!
I hope you will be patient with me, I know it is hard to be a blog follower when there is no new blog posts to read! I am back though and here! I have like 5 recipes just waiting to be finished on the computer! So don’t give up on me yet! AND feel free to share this post with anyone and everyone! or pin it! I love pinterest! Do you have any hints on when there has a been a big life change? Things that worked for you? Please share! I would love to hear them!
Have a great day!
