Happy, happy Monday! After an amazing weekend at bloggy conference in Ohio, and a fun filled week of getting back to normal….. not really there yet still! I am back! I am so excited to be back! Why? Well, conference was all that I needed it to be! It was uplifting, motivating and very, very informative! I needed a little of each of those things. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go and I honestly can not wait for next year!
Tucker is 10! Double digits!! That is a big deal!! You never leave double digits! We love birthdays here and try to make them very special. I always have the house decorated when they wake up, we have donuts for breakfast ( unless it is Sunday, then we have them the following Sat) . The birthday child gets to pick their favorite meal and the day is about them! We try to sing Happy birthday as many times as possible with out totally annoying the birthday-ee.
I wanted to share a little about Tucker!
Tucker is our third child and second boy. We actually changed his name twice in the hospital. We loved the name Tucker, but got a little flack about it and so we changed it to Heston Oliver and then went back to Tucker. It is a perfect name for him! He is named after a guide Mike met while out in New Mexico, and his middle name is after my brother and Mikes Brother. Two great men, that I admire, love and respect so much. They are such great guys and I am so happy Tucker has their name.
When he was little, he could not pronounce his name very well. The best story is when a door to door salesman came and Tuck answered the door, The young man asked him his name and Tucker replied ” tucker” but it sounded like “Taco” The young man replied ” your name is Taco?” Tucker again tried to say Tucker, and the young man, finally just said ” can you get your mom or dad” Poor guy! After that the nickname stuck and he is often called taco!
Tucker is so funny, and has been from birth, just a happy, smiling boy. He is kind to everyone and has a special love for his little sisters and brothers. There are many times that the littlest ones will prefer him over me!
Tucker has a very funny and unique sense of humor, there is not enough time to list all the goofy things he has said or done! I am so grateful to be his mom, so grateful he is in our family. The world would not be as wonderful as a place with out a “Taco” Tucker in it!
Tucker is kind, loving and sets a wonderful example of always finding joy in life. He will help the underdog and those who may not feel like they fit in. He has great faith for only being 10, He will be one the first to say ” lets have prayer” He is a best friend to many, a super smart student and a wonderful kid~
I am very, very grateful to be Tuckers mom. He makes me a better person, he helps me to laugh at things and to relax a bit more. He is a source of great joy and I know throughout his life, his ripple effect of being happy will touch countless others!
