Happy Wednesday Everyone! It is warm today! In the forties! It feels like summer! Coats? Who needs them! That was the attitude this morning! I love it! We have a sledding activity for church on Friday and I am so excited! It might be warm enough to enjoy it!
I have some exciting news! Remember I told you my friend Ashlee was going to guest post , She has her blog ashleemartinsmith.com . Well today is the day! She is guest posting here and I am guest posting on hers over here!! Let me tell you about Ashlee, I met her at church. They had just moved into the ward area and when I met her, I immediately liked her! She is fun , spunky, has this cute sense of style and loves to laugh! We had them over for dinner and our families clicked! Isn’t that so lovely when that happens? Not only is Ashlee great, but so is her sweet husband Collin and their adorable son Nolan. When they come over, it is just like family. My kids love them and so do we! Aunt Ashlee is loved by all!!
I am really grateful for her friendship! I encourage you to check out Ashlee’s Blog everyday! She is a gifted writer! GIFTED! As you read her posts, you feel the words. It is pretty special!

For years, I had no children. My husband, Collin, and I longed for children. If I closed my eyes tightly enough during those childless times, I could hear little footsteps running up and down hallways, and I could taste sticky kisses, and smell dirty feet, and I wanted that. Oh how I wanted that. Because that’s what I thought being a mother meant. I thought it meant sleepless nights, and countless stories, and bath times and bed times and snack times and clean up times. I thought it meant carrying a child in my tummy, and then seeing a tiny human who shared my eyes and Collin’s cheeks, and got her curly hair from the both of us. Motherhood was a clean house, and strict discipline, and flawless children who never spoke out of turn and who certainly never disobeyed. Motherhood was perfection. Until I became a mother. Motherhood was certainly a few of those things, bedtimes and sticky kisses, and stinky feet….ohhhh the stinky feet! But I didn’t know that bedtimes change every day depending on when Daddy gets home from work, or how fast Mommy can make dinner. I didn’t know that the same substance that makes those kisses sticky might have been on those baby lips for 3 days in a row. And I certainly didn’t know that it takes a special kind of patience and a REALLY special kind of bleach to get rid of those stinky feet. But I also didn’t know how tight 1 year old arms could squeeze a neck during a hug. And I didn’t know that there’s no sweeter alarm clock than a tiny voice saying “Mama?” and I certainly had no idea that letting go of his fingers while he took his first steps would feel like a bigger accomplishment than any diploma I was handed or any award I ever received. But do you know the craziest thing I didn’t know? The thing nobody could have told me about? The thing nobody could have prepared me for? The thing I could have never seen coming? I didn’t know my heart could hold this much love. I didn’t know it was humanly possible to fit anymore love inside my heart, because it was already so full of love for my family, my friends, and SO full of love for my husband, and I had no idea how much love I could feel for somebody so small. But there was room. SO MUCH ROOM! And there is love. SO MUCH LOVE! And every afternoon when my little boy walks down the stairs with bed-head and sweet dreams still leaving his just awakened mind, and I think my heart my actually burst, I have to catch my breath, and hold back the outburst of joy, because he’s mine, and I’m his. And I love him more than I ever knew anybody could love anybody, and there’s more room in my heart than I ever knew there could be. And that, is what motherhood is.
