Happy, happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was super wonderful! I had the joy of going to my 20yr high school reunion! 20 years! Where did all that time go! I was very, very nervous about going. In high school, I worked a lot and had a boyfriend. That did not leave much time for girlfriends and football games, things like that. So I really did not have a group that was my “group” I was worried it would feel like you walk into a cafeteria and you have no idea where you should sit! But, Mike and I were going!
I am so glad I went! It was great fun, and seeing everyone was so lovely. I just threw aside that nervousness and did it! My friend Jodi was so sweet, she came right up as we walked in and gave me a huge hug! It immediately eased my mind! I can not tell you how much that meant to me! We were friends in high school, though not best friends or sleep over friends, through the joy of Facebook we have reconnected and I am so grateful for her!
It is so funny, in high school , it is hard to see past those four years.. but when you look back they are just a tiny blip in time! I am not the same person I was in high school, I was so nervous and scared of everyone! I was nice to everyone, because we all should be kind to each other, but never felt like I fit in. I would look at the ” cool ” kids and wish I was part of that group. As an adult, we can all be part of that cool group! What is the cool group? The group that includes everyone, the group that is thoughtful of new people, the group that is uplifting and kind to others. I find more and more that judging others is completely not needed. I get most frustrated with that. Who am I to decide how I think someone should act or look? We can accept everyone, that does not mean condoning bad behavior, but it does mean loving everyone regardless of choices.
I attend church every Sunday and go to PTO meetings monthly, run into moms everywhere, all anyone wants is to feel that they matter. They want to know people love them and care about them. Even the most gorgeous and pulled together people I know, still love a smile hi and to be acknowledged. Every person I meet I want them to know they matter to me. I hope they walk away feeling happier and knowing I am glad I was able to talk to them. I remember feeling that way, so happy that someone took time out of their day to be kind to me and I will always be paying that forward.
Our children and our spouses are the same. They need to know we love them, they need to see the joy we feel when we are around them. Okay enough of the jibber jabber! It was a great night, I am so glad I went, so glad I got to see everyone! I hope I see at least of few of them before another 20 years pass!
I hope to keep better contact with them too! A lot of people still live in here in town! I was shocked by that! I thought I was one of a small handful still here! Here are some fun pictures we took! Total geek moment here! BUT I was invited into the photo booth! Yay! They were so sweet to include me! It meant a lot!! I loved it!
These girls were so fun! SO sweet!!
It was so fun to see so many people! My friend Shane was brave the only boy in this group!
Hottest guy there! It was so fun spending the evening with him!
It was a really fun night! They had excellent Shirley temples and delicious cupcakes. I ate one, Mike ate two! On the way home we had a taco :) I was with the hottest guy there , that is Mike just so you know!, we had cupcakes! We got to make out in the car and then go into a house filled with children and I was able to marvel at how wonderful and happy my life is! How grateful I am for all that I have been through that has made me who I am today! If only I had known how happy and full my life would be, I would not have worried so much about fitting in! We just need to go for our dreams and not worry about what others think!
I hope you have a super day! Come back tomorrow, I have that yummy green bean recipe! I was actually going to do that today and this ended up coming instead! Life is wonderful!

So glad you had fun. I am realizing that I won’t make it to mine next year. A trip to California isn’t in the plans. It makes me a little sad.
