It is early Tuesday morning, I will be honest, I have not showered since Sunday. I was looking forward to a nice, hot shower this morning! Especially after I got the Lucy and Heston up this morning and got them showered. I was thinking… I will get the kids off to school, feed Marsha, let Charli watch a show and I can jump in! I only need seven minutes. Yes, I have it down to exact minutes. With seven children, you learn how long you have to do things and you master those time frames! This morning, everything was going as planned….. school age kids dressed, and fed . DONE! Off to school. DONE! Marsha fed. DONE! Marsha asleep. DONE! Charli fed. DONE! Time to plan my escape to a lovely, warm, much-needed shower. I lay Marsha down on the couch. ( first mistake!) Get Charli all snuggled on the couch with a blanket, and put on a historical cartoon. Pocahontas ( this is not the Disney one, more of a history one). So I don’t feel terrible having her watch useless tv to keep her busy. This, I now know was my second mistake! I tell Charli ” you are in charge.” My kids think that is the greatest thing to be in charge….. I run upstairs , take my shower and I am coming down and I hear Charli, then I hear Marsha…. Uh oh! Charli comes out, and tells me Marsha is sleeping in the castle. Charli also tells me she is beautiful. Marsha comes crawling out of the sun room, she is very happy and very wet! There was also a glass of water in the castle :) I tell Charli “you are beautiful!” She runs to give me a hug and I see what she thinks has made her beautiful! Charli did her make up! With a pen! She also did her hair! I have to tell you, the dress she has been wearing… Her Belle dress is on day 3 or 4… she is obsessed with this dress. The moment it is washed it is back on her. I love how much she loves it, I really do. I love her sweet confidence, I love that she thinks and knows she is beautiful. I am so grateful to be her mom. I hope she always knows she is beautiful, both inside and out. I love that a moment like that is more memorable than if I had just had a shower and not a sweet, funny memory that will be kept forever. My cousin Meredith Cardall, of www.Meredithcardell.com thinks that we should scrapbook not just the big moments, but these little ones too. The moments that show the sweet personality of each child. I think she is right! I will however, next time….. Put Marsha in her room and put on a more entrancing cartoon next time! Have a happy day!
