Happy, happy Friday everyone! It is me! I can not tell you how good it feels to be back blogging! I have missed it so much! Things have been a bit busy over here! I got overwhelmed, scared and then worried that I could not find my purpose. I really did some pondering, praying and time to figure it out! I also had the joy of dealing with lice, a scratched cornea, an er trip for Charli, Emma being gone for two long weeks, Tucker being gone for a week, Mike putting in a million hours at work and just life in general! I have decided it is easy to get scared and sidetracked and stop doing what you love out of fear of failing at it!
Well no more! Whether I fail or not, I can say I tried…. So what better day to come back then on a fabulous Friday!! I have so much to be grateful for…. family, food , a house that I love, great friends, a wonderful church, my faith… the list goes on and on. So for today my top five are!
I found this at Joanne Fabrics! I saw and had to get it, not only was it on sale for under ten dollars….. BUT I love this saying! I believe in this saying! Happiness is a choice! Every single day there are things that we can choose to be upset about. Life is hard at times. I have seven kids, I am pregnant, my in-laws are staying with us, my husband is busy with work, and church, My family has not all been together in over 2 years and we all live within 8miles…. all these things are so wonderful and at the same time can be tough. I see time and time again that the attitude of happiness Is the most important thing that can make any tough situation wonderful!
Lucy’s Puppet Show! She put on this super talent show! I will give you hint as to the song they sang…… if you guessed LET IT GO! You win! Lucy struggled a bit this year with confidence in school and I love to see her gaining more and more self confidence! I could have watched her all day! I know these days are fleeting… bittersweet. Lucy is growing up!
Getting more organized!! Since my hiatus, I have tried to figure out the best way to feel the least amount of stress with the business of our family. These calendars were the key! Yes, there are four of them! One for menu, one for babysitting, one for the blog and one for our life. Each day, I look over them for the day ahead and make my checklist. I LOVE IT!! The next day, each morning we have a family meeting, where we talk about our day and have family prayer. I then have my clipboard the rest of the day! HAHA! All I need is a whistle….. actually I would like a whistle… where does one buy a real whistle?
Our Garden! YAY!! I am so excited we have a garden! Everything seems to be growing! We are brand new at this, so there have been some great lessons! One is to know where you planted stuff. I saw some “weeds” and pulled them. Mike( the real gardener) said “ummm you just pulled almost all the carrots” oops! We also planted pumpkins and watermelons…. won’t do that again! Those stinkers have taken over the back of the garden, my poor herbs are like hey!! Share space buddy! It has been so great, and I am really excited for harvest time. I have no idea when that is…. oh and the cans are to keep deer out! They are on fishing line all the way around the garden and they make noise and the deer leave. So far they have worked~
My big belly! Holy Cow! Already 24+ weeks! Time is flying by! I am doing a post soon all about the bump! For now, I will tell you how thankful and grateful I am that The Lord is blessing us with another baby into our family. Every time I feel him move I am grateful. We have had three miscarriages and to know this baby is healthy and doing well feels so wonderful. I am getting so big that I have almost lost my feet! Seeing them in this picture I may ask Emma to paint them today! That will be fun! We can play beauty parlor with the girls! I can feel overwhelmed at times thinking about an 8th baby! 8! Holy cow! Those times are when I remind my self that motherhood is the most important job, that I am so blessed to be raising these children and that money can come and go, we can be really comfortable or really struggling and in the end the only thing that matters is that our family is eternal and that we are doing our best to raise happy, kind, loving human beings!
So there you are ! The top five fabulous things are back! I want to hear from you! What was your top five or even top three or your top one thing that made you so happy this week? PLEASE share in your comments below! There is beautiful quote that states “as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” I love to hear from you! AND a HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to all of you who sent me emails, or texts or messages, encouraging me to blog again, your sweet words meant so much. Your messages that my blog lifts you up and makes you happy, or that you just enjoy reading it were many times little answers to my uttered prayers of am I making a difference, does it matter? Am I helping others be happy? So many times, after one of my prayers I would get a message or text that was so encouraging and so uplifting…. I have saved them all and just want you to know how much they meant to me! Thank you! So again! Please share your fabulous things that made you happy this week! I will see you again for sure on Monday! I AM BACK! YAY!!
