Happy, happy Tuesday! We have another “cold” day off of school! Yay! I know it is silly but I love having them home! I wanted to share a really fun Valentines Day craft. It is pretty cool looking too! It is quite neat, but actually it is very easy. Are you excited???? Here it is!
First off, get lots of great candy! You can use whatever you want, I love chocolate! You can also use gumballs, conversation hearts.. really any candy that will fit in the can.
Get a few cans that have the pop tab lid, THAT IS SO IMPORTANT!! You NEED the pop tab lid. Open the can from the bottom, so the pop tab is still on the can. They won’t believe you got candy in there! Also, use a can opener that leaves no sharp edges. Pampered Chef sells one. You want the one that you can place the lid back on top of the can and it will stay there, not fall through. If you have questions , message me!
You also need pretty paper, glue, scissors, a sharpie and a glue gun.
Trace and measure the can you are using. Cut the paper to cover the existing label.
Glue the paper to the can! A Glue gun will not work well for this! You really want the regular Elmers Glue!
Fill the can with the Candy of your choice!
Cover the edge of the lid with glue! Again- Hot glue gun won’t work for this!
Press the lid down on the can and let it dry a little bit!
Perfection! The can does not even look opened! They will be expecting something other than candy!
Make them super cute by adding a little heart or ribbon. I used the glue gun for the embellishments. I like the saying “Can” you tell I love you? But feel free to be more creative than I am! Ha!Ha! I am making these for my kids teachers, those will say “Can” you be mine? I may need to work on that! Luckily I have a few weeks until Valentines Day! Any ideas? Please share! Have a super happy day! I am off to enjoy my family!

SMILE BOOK-
1.Chocolate Mousse for dinner!
2. Charli wanted to go to the store with me, I said I need to go real quick and I needed her to stay home, she was starting to fuss and I said” I am going to get you diapers” She immediately perked up and said” you can go, hurry!” That girl does not want to be potty trained!
3.Deep cleaned the house last night with all the family! AHHHHHHH! If it would only last more than an hour!
4.Twix for breakfast this morning… terrible but so good!
5. Yoga pants! LOVE THEM!

I made these last year for Teacher gifts and believe me, using a glue gun was nightmarish! Burned fingers and not-so-stuck on can bottoms. Next time I will try Elmers Glue (or rubber cement). I also tucked a little colored tissue paper on top of the candy so I didn’t get glue on the good stuff!
Such a fun idea!
