Choosing Happiness Tip #6!! It is already Tuesday again! Tip number 6 of our ten week series!
It is an easy tip, as they all are…. are you ready… Drink Water!
Yes! Drinking water! So super simple right! It almost seems too easy right We know that is is really important to stay hydrated. We know that by the time we feel thirsty we are already dehydrated a bit. Try to drink at least 4 cups of water a day.
For some that may seem like a lot, but we are supposed to be drinking 8 a day, so if you can get four….. that is pretty good!
I try to drink water as soon as I wake up. It gets me started on my day. I also will keep water next to my bed at night. Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night so thirsty but just did not want to get out of bed and so you just went back to sleep thirsty? Keeping a glass of water next to your bed will solve that desire to drink and the desire to stay in bed!
Drinking some water first thing in the morning, gets your body going and wakes your mind up. I know everyone seems to love coffee first thing, try drinking water first and then your coffee.
When we drink enough water,we are healthier and feel better and so we will be happier! The first thing I do when I feel sluggish or tired or have a headache is to drink some water! That more often than not helps me instantly better and when we feel better we are happier!
I personally love ice water, my drinks of choice are water, and milk. Every once in awhile a soda and/or some orange or apple juice. I think I drink soda once maybe twice a month and juice maybe once a week. That being said, sometimes plain water is well…… plain and I want something more.
Here are some fun water ideas:
Strawberry water- throw a few frozen strawberries in your glass or in a pitcher, it will add just the hint of flavor and it looks pretty too! You can also do a blueberry water, both are delicious!
Lime water- Slice a few limes and let them hang out in your water, for a stronger lime taste, squeeze some of the juice in the water also.
Lemon water- What every waiter/waitress asks if you want…. Just squeeze a few drops of the juice or just let it hang out there, same as the limes.
Cucumber water- Also very good and refreshing! Slice some cucumbers and throw them in your glass.
Citrus water- add oranges, grapefruit both are delicious in water!
All of these will get stronger the longer they are in your water. SO if you find one you love, keep a pitcher of it in your fridge.
You can also throw some herbs in there, a rose water, or a mint water or even a mixture of a few. Like a citrus water blend.
I hope you try a few and let me know what you think! Only four more tips left! Have you enjoyed this series? I would love to hear which ones you have tried, let me know below!
