Happy, happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are having a super day! It is cold again here, only minus 14! I am really looking forward to warmth again!
Thanks so much everyone for all your kind feedback with the new blog look! I hope it is easier to find the recipes and info that you love! It will keep getting better! I promise to keep trying to improve it!
I am sooooo, soooo excited to share this recipe with you today! I LOVE cinnamon rolls! LOVE THEM! When I worked at the mall (in my highschool years) I worked at a store down the hall from Cinna-bon… yummy! I always loved it when they had to get rid of some cinnamon rolls, I was right there! Loved it at 9:30pm! This recipe is one that I totally love! I actually got this recipe from my dear friend Jen. She and I actually sold these for awhile and then she moved away! My life story, make a great friend….. within two years, they move!
Are you excited and ready for this! Okay, now there are a lot of pictures, so bear in mind I took pictures of almost every step. It really does not take long… try it!!
Add five tablespoons yeast to three and a half cups of warm water. Let it bloom!
Let it bloom! Remember blooming is letting the yeast sit for about five minutes until it is bubbly and frothy.
Add three beaten eggs.
One cup melted butter,( that is two sticks)
3/4 cup of granulated sugar.
Add One tablespoon salt.
Mix these all together.
Start adding flour, I like to use bread flour. You can use all purpose or wheat. The wheat cinnamon rolls will be a little heavier. You will add about ten cups of flour. You may need less, you may need more. When you are adding flour, pay attention to the sides of the bowl.
When the sides are clean, stop adding flour!! Let the bread continue to knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 min.
When the bread is smooth, and elastic, take it out and let it rest for about 15 min, it will look like this!
Separate into three equal sizes, about 2 lbs each.
Roll out the dough to a 18 X12 rectangle.
Pour 1/3 stick of melted butter on the dough, cover the entire dough.
sprinkle one cup brown sugar over dough, covering it really well and then sprinkle two to three tablespoons cinnamon. depending on your taste, I use three.
Roll it up!
Slice into twelve equal slices.
Place on a greased baking sheet! You will get 36 out of a batch.
MY FAVORITE PLACE to let them rise is in the oven with just the oven light on. Let them rise until doubled in size.
LOOKING GOOD! Bake for 10-12 min in a preheated 400 degree oven.
For the glaze, I melt one stick of butter, add in 6-8 cups of powdered sugar, about a half a can of evaporated milk and two teaspoons of vanilla.
Whisk that, yes whisk! until no lumps and smooth!
Spoon over hot cinnamon rolls!
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!
They are a super treat! They make a great gift too!
I like to make a batch while kids are at school and freeze them, so I take my handy dandy SAMS club plastic wrap! ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS! I wrap each individually and throw them in the freezer. To eat, just unwrap it, throw in the microwave for 30 seconds! and it is perfection! DO NOT HEAT IT WITH THE PLASTIC ON!
There you go! Yummy, delicious cinnamon rolls! They are a favorite around here! I have a delicious cream cheese frosting that I also love to have on my cinnamon rolls, I will share that next time! I hope you will try them out! LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! I love feedback!
Smile book!
