Happy, happy Wednesday! It is another cold, freezing day in Wisconsin. Yes, it is always cold in the winter but today is REALLY cold! It is a socks are mandatory and you still need slippers on over the socks kind of day! I wake up pretty early, about 6am, yes I know that is not super early , but still early…when I wake up it is still dark outside and so my room is also dark……. the last few nights that Marsha has been sick she has been waking up in the middle of the night and crying. I don’t want to take her out of bed, so I have been just going by her crib and holding her hand for a min, or rubbing her back and she goes back to sleep. I was really tired the last time she had done that and fell asleep on the floor next to her crib.. haha ! I bet that looked awesome! Monday night I learned my lesson, this time when she woke up, I grabbed my pillow and blanket and laid down, started patting her back and fell asleep. When I woke up, I stood up and took two steps and heard crunch and felt something under my foot…. instant dread…. I knew it was not good, turned on the light and looked… MY GLASSES!! NOOOOOOO!!
I am so blind with out my glasses! I have one pair that is it! No back up pair, no contacts…. One simple pair! I put my glasses under my pillow, so I can see right away in the morning, although that may change now! I have an eye apt in a few weeks, so that part is good. I went last night to see if I could just get the same frame and keep my old lenses, no deal. They kept saying, “these are children’s glasses, these are really small” I have a small face, the children’s glasses are the only ones that fit my too small head and they were only $9.00 frames ( love walmart glasses!) They had some other $9.00 frames that will be great after I have my appointment, but my old lenses won’t work. So, hot glue gun it is! For the next three weeks, I get to sport these good-looking things around! I know, I know they are really cute! It is funny, in high school or maybe even college , I would have holed up for the next few days. I would be so embarrassed. Now, what can I do! I will continue to try to get a pair earlier, but hey it is what it is! I think it will be a great conversation starter with the people I see and maybe we can laugh about it! I was going for the old school look.. The whole tape in the middle I tried, that did not work. Hot glue gun did! So it is not too obvious! I am praying an appointment opens up sooner than three weeks! Fingers and toes crossed! I am excited to get a new pair, I have had these same glasses for about five years, so that is exciting! I hope you have a great day!!
Huge hugs,
Lara
