Happy, happy Thursday! Today is going to be a wonderful day~ I just know it! No matter what the day brings, there will be joy!
I hope your Wednesday was super! Ours was busy! I am really excited though!! We finished a project that I had bought the supplies for over a year ago! Yes! In the end it ended up being about an hour job! It took a year! Talk about thinking something is going to to take much longer than it actually does! Should have just done it right away! However, I am really glad it is finished and it is one of my favorite things for this week! Check back tomorrow :)
Today I wanted to share a cute birthday gift I made for my nephew, Dominic. He is seriously one the cutest kids ever! We went to his birthday a few weeks ago and I got him a gift card, but wanted to do something a little more. I have seen the containers of gum at the stores that sell for like $9.00, as cute as they are, that is just too much money!
We buy the big box of gumballs from sams, you know the 800 gumball box :) hey, they are perfect for so many things! Here is one of them! I decided to make my container of gum!
I just took a simple mason jar and added Dominics name with my silhouette, then grabbed the lid, some fun gumballs and ribbon. The ribbon looked like gumballs to me, so I thought it worked great! If you want to know more about the Silhouette, here is a great blog post I found about it! Find it here! This is a super cute blog called Decorating the Dorchester Way
I filled the jar up, then added the lid, threw some glue around the lid. I used simple elmers glue all…. I love that stuff!
I added the fun ribbon, nothing special, I do suggest you burn the edges so that it doesn’t fray!
There you go! Fun right? I loved it! Even better, Dominic loved it! He also has a little jar to keep treasures in! thank you for popping by today!
Tomorrow is the fabulous five!! I look forward to that all week! I am off for a fun day of kids, errands and chores!
SMILE BOOK!
*Roasted broccoli again! From the garden!
*Meatloaf and cheesy mashed potatoes, sometimes it’s just the perfect meal!
*Dr’s offices, we are so lucky that we can just call a dr and be seen or get the medicine we need, so blessed!
*Working with Mike, he is my most favorite person in the world.
*Kids getting back to a normal sleep schedule! As sad as I am that school is coming, I am excited for earlier bed times….. they are just so much more pleasant when they get enough sleep.
