Happy, happy Wednesday!! Happy April! Easter is coming! Time to decorate! When Mike and I got married, he asked me to always decorate for every holiday. It was something his mom did and he wanted us to continue the tradition. I have tried to do that! I am not always great at it, I remember one year, Halloween came, Thanksgiving came and it was in December before I even got Christmas up! So, some years I am really great at it and others… eh… depends on the year! I think that year Charli was born , Early November. I think I skipped all holidays in my head that year!
This year we got up our easter tree! It is super easy, super fun and it looks cute! Very inexpensive too! I see houses that look so cute and I often worry I won’t have the money to do that! However, I have found more often than not that with a little elbow grease and effort on my part, I can do it pretty inexpensively!
You can buy eggs that are made for hanging on a tree! THEY ARE EXPENSIVE!! I wanted to go the cheaper, chipper route. Do you remember Father of the Bride? One of my favorite movies ever! I wanted to get married in her dress! Anyways, one of my favorite lines is when Steve Martin is losing it because of all money he has been spending and they ask about the main dish, He replies “chicken, the cheaper chipper chicken” I say it all the time! Times that have nothing to do with food…. like right now! The cheaper, chipper way to make hanging eggs! Haha! Now, you will be saying it too right! LOVE IT!
Okay back to my eggs. Very easy, I bought 4 bags from the friendly DOLLAR STORE! Love them! I got five packages, three small that came 24 to a pack and 2 large that had 18 to a pack. I grabbed some embroidery floss that I had leftover from crafting, you can use anything though. Fishing line, dental floss, ribbon. All great ideas!
I just cut strips of floss about 6 inches, and then strung them through the two little holes on top and tied a knot! That was it! The kids helped and then they hung them on the tree!
SUPER FUN and super easy! It was nice to all sit as a family and work on the eggs together, cute to see their little faces so determined to get it in the hole! It that is hard you can also use a need to thread the egg. It is easier to get it through the holes.
I would love to see your tree! So take some pictures! AND share with us! I hope you have a happy day! My birthday is in 20 days!!
