Happy Friday!! It is time for my five fabulous things of this week! What a wonderful week it has been! Busy too! I got a carpet runner finally put on the stairs…. this was a project that for some reason dragged on and on for like two weeks! More popcorn to be made! This week it was 120 bags! YAY!! Again, I ate too much of it… but it was yummy! Popcorn is a great snack too, so I really don’t feel bad about it! The kids had eye appointments and lots of the little normal things we all do, laundry that never ends, dishes that never end, vacuuming that never ends… it is a busy life! So this week, my fabulous five are more things around here, things that can go unnoticed! I hope you love them and I hope it makes your day happier! Remember to look for your five things each week or each day! Things that bring you joy and remind you to slow down and enjoy this wonderful, crazy , happy life we all can live! I know for me it really brings me great happiness to look for the wonderful things that happen everyday!
Drumroll please!!!
1. Halloween Candy!!! Need.. I… say.. more….. we all went trick or treating this last week! So, so much fun~ Halloween candy is yummy and so many different kinds to pick from and best of all, Charli shares all of it with me!
2. Happy Birthday Glass! I found this birthday glass at the dollar store!! YES! The dollar store! When it is someone’s birthday and we have their favorite dinner, we all can now have a special happy birthday glass to toast the birthday person! I love it!! AND A DOLLAR!!!
3.Marshas little giraffe slippers: I love these little slippers and this week they fit Marsha. Why is that such a wonderful thing? Well… each one of my children have worn these simple little slippers. They are not fancy nor expensive, I believe they were from Wal-Mart or Target. I love them though. I love that we had another sweet baby to fill them. I love that as I see her chubby little legs in them I remember all my other children’s chubby little feet in them and I remember to slow down and enjoy their littleness. I look at Emma, now 14, and I can see her little chubby feet and now those feet are bigger than mine. SO I am grateful for those little slippers. They help me enjoy these moments that are zooming by.
4. Lucys dress matched her card! We are working on letters and words with Ms. Lucy goosey. We recently got a new package of word flash cards. We were working on them and guess what!!! The flash card word was dress….. we turned it over and guess what!!! IT IS HER DRESS!! Her exact dress! (thank you Grandma Abbott!) She was so excited! Hey I was so excited! So for school she wore her dress and brought her card to show her class. For some reason, she did not show the class the card… nor really sure why she changed her mind… But, she let me take a picture and I love it!!
5. My Fire Bush: Okay so I don’t really know the name of this bush, we just call it a fire bush. IT IS SO PRETTY! I always have loved the deep reds of fall and loved the changing leaves. In our old house we planted two big trees and two bushes…. thinking they would change into these gorgeous colors. They didn’t, well they changed into a dull yellow. Still pretty but not what I loved. When we bought this house, The Lord had his hand in this and it seems even a year later I am still finding out that he knew what I always wanted in a dream house. In the spring I realized we had lilac bushes!! And now in the fall, I realize we have fire bushes! A few of them! I love, love , love them and everyday as I pass them I am reminded that my Heavenly Father loves me and he knows what I always wanted in a home. As cheesy as that sounds, I am grateful for those bushes. I take a few minutes to thank Heavenly Father for all my blessings. Yes, the bush is a blessing. It brings me joy and makes me happy!
These are my FIVE FABULOUS things this week! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and keep looking for the little things that make you happy! It is family movie night so I am off to start homemade pizza. That should be my number 6…. I could eat pizza every-single-day……. I would love to hear what your five would be for this week! Feel free to leave a comment and tell us! I think every time we share something we are thankful for, it makes others happier and more grateful themselves! I would love to hear what you think! Have a happy, happy day!
