Happy, happy Friday! It is here! What a gorgeous day it is already! The kids have no school! Mike let me sleep in for about an hour extra! YES! I had roasted broccoli for breakfast! SOOO DELICIOUS! I know it sounds weird for breakfast, but I made Mike a veggie platter for his work luncheon today and there was some left over broccoli… perfect amount for one! So roasted broccoli was made and devoured! A few of the kids are still sleeping, which is nice to just have them wake on their own. The sun is shining and it is Friday!
Are you ready for this weeks things that made me extra happy! That I loved! Here you go!!
1. MY HAIR! My Cousin JENNIFER! They go together!
I do not have a picture yet, but it has to be on the list! I love it! My cousin Jennifer was able to fix one big mess! I had grey at the top, and dark brown in the middle and black on the bottom. It was a disaster! She fixed it and gave me a great cut that I love! I was able to hang out with Jen and her cute family for a couple of hours. They were so inviting and so loving. I have not seen Jennifer in quite some time and it felt like no time had passed. I felt so comfortable and welcome in their home. I am very, very grateful for Jen. It was lovely and I can not wait to see her again!
2. Hestons Hamburger!
We had hamburgers and homemade French fries the other night…. This was Hestons Hamburger! I looked over and this is what he had made! Cute! I loved it, Silly I know but I love that he made it fun!
3. Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits
Okay, so these are the generic from Aldis, but oh my goodness! DELICIOUS! I ate these three times this week for lunch! Once with tuna, and twice with turkey! THEY ARE SO GOOD! They are only at Aldis for a little bit so you can see I stocked up on them! I know have 12 boxes in my food storage! AND they are super healthy! YES!
4. The Secret Life of Bees
Okay, so I know this is an older book, but I had never read it! I had a meeting for Gurus ( the cooking class I teach with a friend) and they were talking about the next book they were reading. Cathy( my friend) said she was starting the new one by Sue Monk Kidd, you know the one who wrote secret life of bees. I looked at her in shock and said “you read that? ” She replied “yes” I said “that sounded so boring to me. Who wants to read about bees?” She laughed and told me it was a story about a girl who goes and lives with some beekeepers….. I felt like an idiot! I had to laugh and then I borrowed the book the very next day from the library. IT was a great book! I read it in a day! I could not put it down! So, if you are looking for a good book to read… try the secret life of bees and no it is not about boring bees!
5. Tucker gave Mikey a Kindle!
Mikey got into trouble last week, those who know Mikey , you know he reads all the time! I mean ALL THE TIME! Worst thing you can do is take his book away. He saved up all his money and bought a Kindle, he now reads even more because that can hold lots of books! Well, I took away his kindle for the day, he was devastated and really upset. Tucker and the girls were coloring quietly at the table in the kitchen with us and suddenly Tucker stands up , walks over to Mikey puts his arm around him and said ” here you go Mikey, I got you a kindle you can use” Tucker handed Mikey this “KINDLE” I thought it was great, poor Mikey did not think it was that funny. I thought it was very clever of Tuck! Mikey later thought it was funny, but at that moment…. not happy! I still laugh when I see it, I hope it makes you smile too!
I am looking forward to a great weekend! I will get pictures up of my hair soon and I am working on a new website for the blog! Lots of exciting things are happening! Have a wonderful weekend! There may not be a post tomorrow…. that is up in the air! I will be out of town and if I can not get to a computer then there will not be one! Sorry in advance!! Monday I will be back for sure! Have a happy day!
HUGE hugs!
Lara
