Happy, happy Monday!! This is a new Fabulous Five.. on a Monday! I am running behind on my blogging… well in reality I feel like I am running behind on everything! But hey, I have 8 kids so that is okay! Even for those who have 2 kids, it is okay to run behind!
I do have a lot to be thankful for…. so much. I am trying to really be aware of that. Even when feeling overwhelmed or like I am struggling. I just look back over my smile book and say a pray, take a deep breath and I will feel so much better!
So if you are ever feeling like you struggle or overwhelmed, try a Smile Book. It really does change your perspective. I actually did a post on that HERE, check it out if you get a chance!
Okay this weeks top five!!
This sweet blanket: My sweet friend Pam made Hinckley this! She is this sweet older lady from church and I just love her! Pam just learned to knit and I am so thankful she thought of Hinckley for her first blanket! It is soft and cuddly and I really love the colors~ I really love that every time I snuggle him in it, I will think of her! And I always giggle a little. Pam is from England and I always try to get her to say prayer or read for us in church, just so I can hear her talk. I love it! I have a special place in my heart for crocheted blankets. My Grandma made blankets all the time and when ever someone gives me one, the love I feel is two fold, their love and my grandmas. It reminds me of her and how much I love her and still miss her. I am grateful.
This sweet little army bear: Heston, our 8 yr old saw this at a thrift store and asked if he could buy it for his Uncle John. He even used his own money! Mikes sister Cindy and her family just moved here and Heston adores Uncle John. He was an army ranger, so Heston thought this was perfect! The little paper in his shirt is a sweet little note that Heston wrote him., oh man! I should have taken a picture of that! Augh, It is so sweet though, what a thoughtful gesture and a great example to me! When you are 8, money is hard to come by and to be so generous is really example of kindness.
A BLOG PLANNER! I just got this!! A blog Planner!! Super excited to be a bit more organized and focused with the blog. I really, really want my blog to grow this year and I am hoping this helps my focus and clarity!! I always love lists…. LOVE LISTS! I think this will be a really fun journey! So stick around and please feel free to share the blog and comment!! Sometimes dreams can be scary and feel really hard to achieve… but with focus and never giving up… great things can happen! I have already started learning more with photos! I am really excited to grow!
Me and My Carrier! – Thanks to Stacy!! I LOVE A BABY SLING!! Little Hinck is a swaddler baby, loves to be held! LOVES to be snuggled and this carrier has made life a bit easier. I will put him in and I can do chores and make dinner…..GLORIOUS!! To top off the wow aspect! Stacy made this! I should ask her to share how she did that! She is super talented and one of the most beautiful singers I have heard! Very grateful for her friendship and her sweet thoughtfulness!
THIS!! I had to save this for last….. A BABY SCALE!! Yes, a baby scale! My friend Heather Mandry Goldberg, who by the way I have not seen in like 17 years but we are still in touch , THANK YOU FACEBOOK! Heather drove all the way from upper Milwaukee to drop this off last week. I was not even home to hug her, but she drove all that way to just drop it off… seriously over an hour of driving to hand something to my mother in law. This baby scale has -changed my life……. seriously. You all have read that Hinckley does not gain weight well. He was hospitalized last month and the dr was saying he may admit him again if we can not get him to gain weight. That is pretty stressful, I breastfeed and supplement with a bottle. However, Hinckley has horrible reflux and so I never know how much he is actually eating. Now, that we have this scale, I weigh him every morning and every night. I know he is gaining and I am able to relax and enjoy Hinckley more! The stress relief has been wonderful and I am so very, very, very grateful. Grateful for her friendship after all these years, grateful for her willingness to take a big chunk of time out of her busy day and family to help me. I can not tell you how many simple prayers have been uttered for Hinckley to gain weight, and how many times I have asked for peace to know he is going to be okay, that I was feeding him enough, that he would grow. My prayers were answered through sweet Heather. Side note, this is a picture that I will save and treasure and retake again and again! I love seeing him grow!
Well there you go! Fabulous five after such a long break!! I am grateful for so many wonderful blessings. All of you who share my life and my families lives are special to me. I take not a single one of you for granted. I will never take that for granted.
