Happy, happy Friday! Whoo hoo!! I made it the first week of school! That is quite an accomplishment I am going to say with 5 kids in school and a husband who is a teacher! I think for any one with children, you should feel quite happy you made it the first week! It throws a whole new slew of things to do on a daily basis and it takes some getting used to!
Here are my top fabulous five things for this week!!
1. I am going to a blogging conference!! YES!! Super excited! It makes me feel like I am really going to be a real blogger! Like I may really know how to do some of this stuff that I just blindly attempt and hope for the best! Someone who asked to remain anonymous offered to pay the registration fee, if I could get there. I was shocked, grateful and so excited! I also got to work on saving some money so I can go and I did it! It is next weekend, I can not wait to share what I learn and tell you all about it!! My friend Ashlee is going , you may remember her, she did a guest post last year, ashleemartinsmith.com. We are road tripping it to Ohio and I am so EXCITED!!
2.Families are Forever, I am soooo grateful for this knowledge. Not sure why this is so much on my mind this week, but it really is. I have an old friend from my teenage years and we have reconnected on facebook. Her family is going through a loss right now of her Niece, It is so heart breaking to see and at that same time, it is a very loving, beautiful thing. You can see the peace in their family, the love they have for one another and the knowledge that they know they will be a family again. It changes this life experience for me. To know that there is a plan in place for our family to be eternal………… could there be anything better.
3.Hanging out with Charli! With the kids gone at school all day, it has been so wonderful to see Charli growing up more. Being the only big sister around, she is really stepping into that role with Marsha and it is so wonderful to see! She doesn’t really take naps, so during quiet time we get to hang out and do fun things, like make blue cookies! Do you see all the cookie dough on her mouth before we colored it blue! She also helped with chili that day and at dinner, she was so proud! I am looking so forward to the rest of this year!
4.Emma and Lucy just hanging out. It is bittersweet :( Emma is growing up so fast before our very eyes! No more barbies and playing house! She is in high school and doing all the high school things, like sports and going to the football games. I really miss her! I love these sweet moments of catching her with her little sisters and brothers. I wish I could have a million pictures of it!
5. Chocolate Milk! Not so much the cookies, but for sure the chocolate milk. I have this homemade chocolate milk mix that I will actually be sharing next week, and my oh my it is yummy! I want to drink water or chocolate milk all day! Haha! It is delicious though, it has like a richer chocolate taste, not a sweet milk chocolate flavor but more dark chocolate………. either way it is YUMMY!
Those are my fabulous five! What are yours for this week? I often think there are millions of things that can’t be photographed. Like how someone can just make you feel like a million bucks or if you are having a hard day, someone taking time to listen to you, someone who is sad with you because you are sad and they don’t want you to go through it alone. Or small answered prayers, a sweet knowledge to keep on keeping on. Those things I can not photograph nor express how I want to, but I had all of those things plus more this week and I am grateful. I am above all grateful for peace. That I am doing the best I can and as long as I keep trying and don’t give up…. then I am doing great. I hope we all remember the things that aren’t so easy to share, and look for them. They are little reminders that we are all loved in some way…. I am grateful for you! Grateful for the joy and hope and love you bring into my life! All I can say is Thank you.
I don’t really have a messy moment for last night… unless you count my 8 yr old sneaking into the other room to watch the football game after I had already put him into bed! STINKER!! I did not even realize it until about an hour later! Other than that, yesterday was a great day! Hoping for a great day today too!! Time to fold laundry! Still waiting from yesterday! ha!
Smile book:
charli telling everyone she made dinner and the cookies
Mike going to his church meetings, even though I missed him terribly last night, I am so proud of him for going.
Emma won her first game and she loved it!
Tucker going in marshas room and laying on the floor just to hold her because she was crying and did not want to go to bed.
My brother is coming to fix one of those stinky tubs today! yay!!
