Happy, happy Friday!! It is Friday! whoo hooo! And a lovely Friday at that also! Fall is seriously my favorite time of year I have officially decided. It is almost cool enough for sweaters every day! My only issue is comfortable pants! As pregnant as I am, the only thing I am loving are yoga pants! They could be my favorite things, one thru five!
It is Friday! You know what that means!!
What a great week! I am grateful for a great week! We have been dealing with Hand, foot and mouth disease for the last week. Do you know what that it? I knew very, very little about it! In all of other children over the last 14 years my kids have never had it! It is similar to chicken pox, blisters, fever, itching like crazy….Well, little Marsha and Charli came down with it, and some of the little children I babysit came down with it too! So a very busy week! This weeks top five were wonderful to keep me grateful!
We had a dear friend over for dinner, he insisted on bringing dessert! He brought Ice Cream! The kids were happy enough with that, however not only was it ice cream…. It was ice cream in little pint containers! MY KIDS LOVED IT! We really only buy tubs of ice cream…. cost effective! CJ brought 8 containers of all different kinds. We tasted a little of each and then the kids picked their favorites and ate out of the containers! THEY LOVED IT! They said they felt like in the movies! I have never seen them get so excited about ice cream! You can see Marsha really enjoying hers!! I may try to eat my ice cream next time like this! I want to buy little pint containers so the kids can make their own favorites…. hey family home evening idea!!
I found a really nice soup tureen!! At the thrift store for $4.00! Whoo hooo! I have been looking for one of these for a long time! My mom has like six of them and I always ask for one and her answer is always no….. I admit, I want to borrow one and just never give it back! Isn’t that awful!! I am glad I found one of my own! Now I won’t be tempted to take hers!! I love it though…… to be honest, I just love white dishes. Every year for my birthday and Christmas, I ask for white platters, or bowls…. pretty boring BUT I love them!!
Emma found this leaf, with the heart in the middle! Emma also took this picture, Great job Emma!! I love it! Love the color of the leaf, love the heart, love the seasons are changing, love that my sweet 14 almost 15 yr old ( next week!) Finds joy and beauty in something small as a simple leaf! Next time I take a walk with the kids, it will remind me to slow down and just really enjoy the moment!
Mikey and this BUNNY!! Pretty big bunny right? This could double as a messy moment in the Meier household! Our little cat who is only 3 and a scrawny thing… brought this bunny in the house. Fluffy (the cat) was playing with this poor bunny in the family room and had it cornered when Mikes dad saw it. Mikey saved it and made a little home for it until dad got home and then we let it go. BUT DO YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THIS THING!! Thank heavens Grandpa saw it! That poor bunny would have been in the house for who knows how long! Mikey wanted to keep it of course, but one time Mikey also found a baby duck, we did try to save that and keep it… it did not end well…… so we thought better safe than sorry for Mr. Bunny and back outside he went!
TUCKER!!! It was Tuckers birthday this week! He is 10! Double digits! This game was one he was hoping , hoping, hoping for…. and he got it! Look at the joy! His reaction made my day and made me so happy I bought a video game, ( in general I do not like video games) He was joyous and I loved seeing him be so excited! SO grateful he is in our family and so grateful I get to see him grow into a wonderful young man!
That is my top five! What was your fabulous five this week? I would love to hear from you!! Comment below!! When I read your five, it makes me feel even happier! SO Share!!
Messy Moment!
We still had one, heavens we have messy moments daily! this one was a doozy! We bought Tucker a bears shirt for his birthday. We were excited to give him it…. I lost it the day of his birthday. I had it with his other presents and moved it because it wasn’t hidden as well. I looked for hours! Everyone helped look, we said a family prayer, we said personal prayers. We told Tucker he had one more gift…. he prayed. Everyone was looking for this! Tucker asked that night when he was in bed and we still had not found it, he asked “why haven’t we found it, we all said prayers..”. I told him, our prayers will be answered, we just don’t know when they will be answered. The next day I was praying again to find this silly shirt! I thought I should go check the outside garbage! I went outside and looked in the big, gross full garbage cans…. guess what! There it was! In THE GARBAGE!! Not even in the kitchen garbage which we had checked numerous times, but in the large outdoor garbage cans! I said a quick prayer of thanks and then cleaned that shirt! Tucker was thrilled when he got home! Note to self: Check all garbages next time I lose something!
Have a great day!!
