Happy, happy Monday! Happy Labor day! I hope everyone is enjoying this great holiday! I am kinda wishing I was ready to go into labor today! I am not, but sure am feeling close to it! 10 more weeks! I can not believe this pregnancy is almost over! This little guy will be here soon and will still have no name! If you guys have ideas…. feel free to give them to me!
The last official day before school starts tomorrow! Tomorrow starts the 190 days of packing lunches, snacks and earlier bedtimes, getting clothes out the day before, lost gym shoes, backpacks and homework, it starts fun school parties, and field trips and new friends. It starts sweet little drawings or letters just because, it starts new “favorite teachers” and new friends!
I am really excited for the kids! They are going to have a wonderful year and I am so happy for them! Tonight will be fun, its family home evening ( more about that Here!) and each the kids will get a fathers blessing from Mike, to start the new year off, my dad always gave me one before each school year and they gave me great comfort. Today will be a great day! A busy day, but a great day!
I shared last week that I was prepping lunches for school, I have 20 sandwiches done and ready in the freezer! Whoo hoo! I also wanted to share my easy lunch prep… that is tomorrow but for today, I am sharing a very simple make ahead peanut butter and jelly sandwich… yes it is just peanut butter and jelly………. not too impressive! But easy and the kids love it at least once a week!
I started making my own because my kids would see the uncrustables at the store and they would want them! A round sandwich! Are you kidding? They thought it was amazing! I thought it was a rip off! $3.50 for four sandwiches!
I knew there had to be a better way! I had a sandwich sealer from pampered chef,( you can also look on amazon and just search sandwich sealer.) I decided to use that and make my own!
VERY EASY!
All you need is bread, you can use wheat too, I had white, so white it is! Some peanut butter, jelly, a knife and the sealer.
VERY IMPORTANT! Put peanut butter on both sides, if you don’t do that.. yucky! The jelly will freeze and when it thaws, you will have a soggy sandwich.
Put some jelly in the center, on one side of bread. I like less jelly, my kids like more…. for them I add jelly like this! Little more!
Put the sealer in the middle, make sure you are not getting the crust! The crust does not seal as well as the middle of the bread. Push the button down and push hard! A few times! You really want that puppy sealed!
Perfect! Looks just like the store bought ones!
Peanut butter and Jelly! Ta duh! Marsha was very sweet and ate this one for me! She smiled and ate every bite, I am going to say she loved it!
Wrap it individually in a baggie or saran wrap. This is a perfect portions bag, just make sure you get all the air out!
Make a mass quantity with some help with one of your favorite kids! In this case it was Mikey :) We made two bags of peanut butter and jelly and one bag of just peanut butter. Mikey is not a jelly fan! I put them on a cookie sheet first to freeze in the freezer and once frozen put them in a large gallon zip lock. They only take 30 min to thaw so when lunchtime comes they are perfect!
I told you! Pretty simple and nothing special but they are sure helpful! I hope you get to try them! I am going to share lunch and school morning ideas every day this week! So I hope you pop back in tomorrow! Have a super labor day!! Thanks a million again friends for popping in!!
Messy moment:
I wish I had a picture but alas I do not! On Saturday I was running some errands and I told you about the door handle…. well add another one to that! It did not break off but it got stuck for over two hours! I was trying to get marsha in her seat from the front door! She weighs 23 pounds and I am 8 months pregnant… it was hot and muggy… just gross! Not easy, and not fun……….I am thinking it is really time to start saving for a new van! It has unstuck since then, but oh boy that was annoying! haha!
SMILE BOOK!
I met my friend Collins mom and turns out she reads my blog! It was so exciting to meet someone new that is already a blogging friend! It made my day!! Hi Collins mom!!
Tucker and Heston had some money saved up, we went shopping on Saturday and they shared some money so that Lucy and Charli could each buy a little dollar toy. So very sweet and so generous. They made the girls so happy and they made me so grateful for their example!
The self check out at Walmart. I love that thing! The kids get to help and I get to be a cashier! I used to always play cashier as a kid, did you? Loved it then and I still do!
Church, I love going , I love seeing everyone and I love feeling the spirit there and getting peace for the upcoming week!
I ran into my friend Jodi and Jamal at Target! We got to chat for about 40 min! IT was so fun!

love this post! The sandwiches look so easy! I wanted to do that with Breannah but I just found out she does not need lunch for school because they have a program this year where she will be getting lunch free…it works out great but now I have all these extra snacks for lunch! Question for you, I was wondering if your kids get allowance based on chores or if you give your kids an allowance and how do you do it? I did a certain thing with Breannah for a couple weeks but she didnt catch on so Im trying to find new ways! Thanks!
