It is almost Easter! THIS weekend folks! Are you ready! I am almost! First on my list… We are growing Easter Lollipops!
I wanted to share a very fun, cute Easter Idea. I love Easter, not because of the bunny but because of what it stands for. The death and resurrection of the Savior. I am so grateful we have a day to celebrate and be grateful for his life and death. In our home, as in my parents home, we have set up a deal with the Easter Bunny! He comes on Saturday morning! Always the Saturday before Easter morning. I love that my mom was able to get a hold of that bunny and set that up! We have continued the tradition and it is so nice to have the crazy, candy filled joyous morning on Saturday and then to have the spiritual, reverent Sabbath.
Our traditions include a super fun, huge easter egg hunt at my moms! All of the family comes and we each bring a couple dozen filled eggs. There ends up being a couple hundred eggs hidden. The kids love it! We then have a nice brunch with my family. I say nice brunch…. in all honesty it is a crazy, noisy, crowded wonderful meal. People are strewn about the house, in the kitchen, the living room, the back room. It is crowded and so wonderful! I know I use that word freely, but what other word describes a family of 13 and add in all their spouses, and children totaling if everyone shows up 63 people! That does not include when everyone invites a new family, or friends to join us. I love it! I hope everyone comes this year! I will have to take lots of pictures!
I wanted to share with you a cute idea though! Want to make your kids joyful and wonder filled! Plant some magical jelly beans and watch what happens! Just get some magical jelly beans, you moms know where to get them from…. if you don’t, send me a message and I will tell you! Pick a great spot in your yard and plant the jelly beans. On Easter Morning… look what happens! Easter lollipops have grown!! The kids will love it!
Here is how simple it really is!
Growing Easter Lollipops!
I picked a good spot and just used a spoon! Yes! I know awful, but otherwise I would have had to run to the shed for the little shovel thing and I will be honest, I would rather just wash the spoon! HAHA!
Those are magical jelly beans! You can use any kind of jelly bean!
Cover it up! Remember in general where they are buried! That is important! I made that mistake once… wont happen again. I tell you! Remember where you need your easter lollipops to grow!
TA DUH!! Easter Morning look what has grown! YAY!! We have to plant seven little sets of beans… we have seven kids, so if you only have two, dig two holes… two lollipops then show up! Or in our case Hinckley is much too little for a giant lollipop, I am sure he will be stealing the kids easter lollipops the whole day! haha! Love 15 month olds!
What a fun tradition right? I simply love it! We have one similar at Christmas, You will have to wait to hear that one! Kids love this!
You can find lollipops like the ones pictured at Walgreens, that is where I found the best price! You can also get them at the dollar store or if you don’t want to leave your house order them online here 3″ Swirl Pops Cherry flavor (12) you get 12! This would be fun to lollipop attack someones house on easter morning! If you don’t want to do the big lollipops you could do smaller ones, like dum dums or blow pops, those are smaller.
So go plant your magic jelly beans!
Let the kids help you! They will have fun planting and so much fun when they see what grows! They will love and remember Growing Easter Lollipops! It may be a tradition they continue!
I hope you enjoy this Easter Holiday. It is indeed a very special day. I am so grateful for the gift we have all been given. I have so much to be grateful for…..

Our Kindergarten teacher did this for their class party. They planted the beans Friday, and there was plenty of sunshine and rain over the weekend for them to grow into lollipops for their party Monday. The kids loved it.
