It is almost May! Can you believe it? This year is flying by! Only 35 more days of school and only 10 more days until Cinco de Mayo! A fun day filled with delicious food in our house. What a fun way to celebrate than with some super easy and delicious treats!! CHURROS!! I had churros once and oh my goodness… delicious! Crunchy, sweet, cinnamony ( is that a real word!) and a donuty (is that a word either!) center. Had they been cheaper than $3.00 a piece I would have given in and had more!
These are so inexpensive to make! And SUPER EASY! Once you realize just how simple they are, you will want to make them for snacks, for a fun date night and or just because you went to the mall and smelled a churro!
You can make these the simple way of straight lines, you can make little pieces for churro bites and you can even make shapes or words! How much fun is that?
- 1 Cup Water
- 2½ tbsp Granulated Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- Cinnamon and Sugar for topping ( ½ cup sugar mixed with 2 tsp cinnamon)
- Over medium heat
- Combine water, sugar, oil, salt and bring to boil
- Remove from heat
- Stir in flour until it forms a ball.
- Let cool slightly
- Pipe into 4 inch logs and drop in hot oil (375 degree)
- Cook until golden brown
- Drain on paper towels and dredge in cinnamon and sugar
- Eat!
These are seriously delicious and so easy! I made these for snack yesterday and they devoured them! Next week, I will be sharing Pico De Gallo, and Guacamole! YUMMY!!
I hope you have a super happy day! My kids are off school so I will be enjoying them!!

Emma is now taller than me! WHAT!!
Stacy Onines-Jensen says
I’ll have to get some frying oil to make these. I think a simple flour substitution will make it gluten free.
