Happy Friday! Who doesn’t love Krispie Treats? And who doesn’t love Purple Krispie Treats? Charli and I decided to make Krispie Treats for craft today! Lots of sticky fun! It’s quite easy and I know there are lots of recipes out there. I do mine a little different. First off I don’t use a lot of butter, and I like mine not really gooey. I think changing the colors can be fun. For some reason if I change the color to something unexpected , kids tend to get much more excited about it. You can also add in lots of mix ins if you like. Enjoy!
Ingredients: 8 cups of krispie rice cereal
6 cups of mini marshmallows ( I prefer mini, I like the way they melt better)
2 .5 tbsp. of butter ( told you I only use a little)
I also sprayed a large half sheet cookie tray with nonstick cooking spray.
Melt the butter in a large non stick pot
Once melted throw in the marshmallows. I stir them until they are almost all melted, a few little lumps is fine.
Turn off the heat and add a few drops of your favorite food coloring, stir until smooth.
Pour in the cereal and stir, stir, stir…. then pour mixture onto cookie sheet. Now HELPFUL HINT!!!! I get my hands wet with cold water and spread out the treats. If my hands start sticking…. I rinse them in cold water again and keep spreading until level.
This is a great hint for when you are molding Krispie Treats also! Set aside and let cool! Another HELPFUL HINT… use a pizza cutter to cut through the Krispie Treats! Yummy and delicious! I love mine the next day, for some reason I think they taste even BETTER! Enjoy!

Very dear and very sincere–when you were young you were an excellent hostess and still are. You are also a very good interior designer. And a fine cook. I’m blessed to be your father, blessed that you could live to adulthood and blessed to know your mother–and your brothers and sisters. As Iris agreed, no two of you are the same–not exactly peas in a pod–more like Planter’s Assorted Nuts! (I borrowed that from a Mad Magazine article from around 1965).
