Happy, happy , happy Wednesday everyone! Today is a wonderful and happy day! Today, sweet Lucy turns SIX! Holy cow! She is six! I still can not believe it! I want to share a little about cute Lucy!
Lucy is number 5 of our 7 children. We had Emma, then three boys and finally a sister for Emma. Lucy is so very sweet, so innocent, she is tender and kind to everyone. Truly she is one of the most, if not most patient child of ours! Many times, Charli will be annoying her and Lucy will just clench her fists, take a deep breath and walk away. Charli for awhile was in a pinching stage. Charli would pinch Lucy and Lucy would just stay there and start to cry. She would not run away or hit her, she would just stay there and yell for help. We kept telling her run away and tell her no! Lucy finally started saying please stop, but she still never hit back or ran away!
Lucy loves princesses and books. She has a very dear best friend Ruby, Ruby moved to Utah two years ago, and Lucy still names every doll Ruby. They were able to spend a week together last summer and it was as if they had never been apart. Lucy is already a true friend.
Lucy is named after my sister Becky, Lucy and Becky both have the middle name LOUISE, if you ask Lucy her name she will say” lucy louise becky meier” I could not think of a better person for Lucy to be named after. Becky was there at her birth and they have a special sweet bond that I am so grateful for and I love seeing it continue to grow. My mom has a special nickname for her too, LuLu, We actually had that in sharpie on her foot immediately following her birth! She loves that nickname.. Lucy Louise… LuLu!
We are so blessed to have Lucy in our family. She is good and kind, gentle and faithful. Even at four if I ever lost my phone, I do that a lot… she is one of the first to say lets say a prayer. I love her sweet faith.
I can not believe she is six! I think of her birth, there was a measles outbreak going on in. So, only my parents, clergy and our children could come visit the hospital. They let Becky stay for the birth and promptly had her leave! It was a sweet time for Mike and I. We were able to spend a few days in the hospital with just Lucy….. She made one of my dreams come true! I had a baby just weeks before my sister! So Lucy and Layla are just a few weeks apart!
I am grateful to be her mom, grateful for the example she sets for me. So grateful for her being part of our family and so very grateful to know that we are a family forever!
If you can, leave Lucy a message! She is just learning to read and I know she will love hearing birthday wishes!
