Happy, happy Monday! I am running a little late this morning! The kids have no school, YAY!! Everyone is up and running around! It has been very busy this morning so I am just getting around to blogging! Mike and I went a fabulous weekend away, two nights….. it was so fabulous and so great to spend some one on one time with him! I will share more about that later… but we got home yesterday, the kids were so excited! We were so excited! I missed them so much! The house looked awesome, the kids were happy it was so wonderful!
I was putting some stuff away and Lucy came up to me. “There is nail polish on the table and chair.” She said. “What?” Instant dread sank in…. our kitchen table has plastic on it, so I don’t have to worry about nail polish, markers etc….. so my gut said she was not talking about that table. In our formal dining room, we have a cherry wood table and chairs. I was hoping it was not that…… I asked her to show me where it was.
I followed her into the dining room, I looked and yes green nail polish all over the table and one of the chairs. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Green! Augh! Emma explained she saw it later and tried to clean it up. Thank heavens she did not use nail polish remover! So what do you do with green nail polish all over a cherry wood table and chair? Well you take a picture of it of course ! We have to document this and I thought perfect to share with you guys! I took pictures of the chair, you can see where they tried to wipe it and it ended up rubbing it into the wood grain.
If this ever happens to you, do not panic! You can get it out! All you need is a rag,( I used my norwex cloth, to wipe up at the end), a rag damp with soapy water, hairspray, a credit card and a toothbrush! YES! That is it!! Now, this nail polish had sat for over 24 hours. The nail polish had spilled on Saturday, this was Sunday afternoon.
Spray the nail polish with the hairspray. Let it sit for a few minutes. Start scrubbing it off with the washcloth, if it is not coming up easily, use the edge of a credit card to scrape off the nail polish, you can also use your finger nails too. Spray again and let it sit for a few minutes and then scrape it again. Keep doing that until it is all gone.
If there is still some nail polish in the wood grain., don’t worry, spray hairspray and use a toothbrush to scrub it out. Thanks Lucy! HAHA! I did clean her toothbrush after that! Her toothbrush is one of the motorized ones. It was perfect and she won’t mind!
The chair and table look good as new!
Have a super day!! See you tomorrow!
