Happy, happy Thursday! Holy cow! This week is flying by! Faster than I realize! I am really excited to share my nurse thank you gifts, but first I want to give you an update on baby! Went in for stress test yesterday, baby is doing well, YAY! I will go again tomorrow to check him again. I will be getting induced early, just don’t know exactly when yet, I hope not until next weekend! Mike has off two days from school and that could really be helpful!! As for me, I am doing well, trying to get everything done! Feel quite unorganized but I know it will be okay…… I know it. Having lots of contractions and lots of back pain ( lovely :) ) I am trying to enjoy every moment though. This is our last baby, we are pretty sure and I am a little sad to never experience pregnancy again, so no matter how painful it is, I am trying to relish it! Too soon it will be over! I will keep you posted!!
I am so happy to count one thing off my list! THANK YOU GIFTS FOR THE NURSES!! The nurses are so wonderful at St. Marys. I wanted to do something special to say thank you, We have delivered 5 of our 7 children there and this will be number 6! So, many of the nurses remember us! This was just a little thing to say thank you for all they do and let them know we appreciate them!
I ordered glasses from the dollar store, did you know you can do that! The only downside was patterns can change and the cups I ordered were not the cups I received! I am SOOOOOO UPSET by that! I do not love these cups and I could reorder and get plain ones, but they would not be here until middle of next week and well, I did not want to chance it and not have them finished! So kinda ugly cups it is! Oh well, what can you do except smile and move on! This is what they were supposed to be like! Cute right!
I wanted to make a little care package with things nurses need, I asked a few nurse friends and came up with this list, gum, a pen, candy, hand sanitizer and lotion.
So this is what I got! I decided to do tootsie rolls, they were little, easy to put in the cup and I was able to come up with a saying! ” Thanks for helping everything “roll” along smoothly… get it! ROll haha!
Lotion, I got three for a dollar at the dollar tree! SCORE!
Hand sanitizer! Again 3 for one dollar!
Cute pens, those were only 4 for a dollar!
Gum! I got these from sams club, no idea how much it was, I got like 40 packages for under $7.00
And the “new” cups! I made 12 in all, and I did not use as many of the peace sign ones.. but hey they are what I was looking for! The cups were only a dollar a piece!
Filled them up! Marsha helped!! Only took a little bit!
I made this little sign on picmonkey.com, if you have not heard of it, it is a super photo editing site! Lots of free things and you can upgrade for a little fancier editing software stuff! I printed 9 to a page! Then glued them on cardstock, yes that was craft for the day!
All done!! Threw some curling ribbon on! It looked better than tulle…… and they are ready to go!
I think they turned out pretty good! I wish the cups were different styles but oh well… I made 12, I called the hospital and they said an average birth you will have up to 12 different nurses and I didn’t want to miss anyone!I do have a few extra tags just in case I need to make more! I spent a total of 26.16 or an average of $2.18 each! Not bad!! I hope the nurses just feel appreciated!
I hope you have a super day! I am off to try to get a few things done, while resting a ton more, if I am up and around it is like one non stop contraction! I still have to finish my maternity pictures, help the kids make their big sister/big brother shirts and a few freezer meals and we are set………. oh and clean the house! For the hundredth time this week!
See you tomorrow!! Have a happy day!
SMILE BOOK!
I got to sit and listen to the heart beat for 30 min yesterday!
Tucker is now a bear in scouts!
Charli and Lucy are going to bed lovely… Marsha is another story!
Received some lovely messages of encouragement and love, thank you!!

Hi Lara,
I googled nurse thank-you gifts and a picture of your cups came up with your site. I’m looking for a nice gift to give to my daughter’s nurses, I had my daughter premature and she will be leaving the hospital soon. Since there are around 12 or so this will work out great! Thank you for the inspiration and sharing the store information!! I will be going to the dollar tree today.
