My name is Lara and I am one of eleven kids! ELEVEN! That is a lot and it has been amazing and wonderful and crazy and hard, all at the same time! It is hard to explain what that is like to others. You have 10 other people that you grew up with, that saw you at your worst moments, and your best. Ten people who can break your heart or lift you up with a simple glance. I am number two and so I also feel like I am a mothering factor to them. When my siblings are sad, hurt or happy, elated… I feel it too. I share this with you because I think sometimes we can get caught up in life and get busy. We forget our roots and in essence can forget who we are. Sometimes, families can not see other because they are caught up in who is right and not what is right. IT does not matter who is right, it matters what is right. I love that quote so much, that I recently put it up in the nook in the kitchen. I want my kids to know that. I love my sisters and brothers so very much and wish only happiness and joy for them. I think the world could be a better place if we just loved one another. Treated each other as family. We want the best for our family, carry that attitude on to others. In our church, we refer to each other as brother and sister. For instance, Sister Meier… that is me :) Today, I want to try harder at loving everyone as a sibling, and loving my brothers and sisters more. Life is busy and it can pass you by so quickly if you are not actively trying to go the extra mile. I admit, I have not seen my brother in a about 2 months…. how far away is he???? TWO MILES!! That is awful, and I love him! I just have let myself get busy and sidetracked! I am going to work harder and make the effort……… There are lots of great ideas out there, meet at a kids eat free restaurant. I did that last night with one of my sisters, was it loud, crazy and wild? Yes and so fun!! My kids will remember that night! Meet at the library, go to the park, invite them over for a playdate…… I think we just all should make a bigger effort. I know I will and not just for siblings. For friends to, new and old. I think if we all just loved one another more, made more of an effort the world could be a better place! I hope you have a glorious, happy day! As for me, I think I am going to make a bunch of cookies and I have about ten houses to stop by……. actually eleven, if my mom and dad find out I missed them…. I think my mom would call me on that one! So eleven hmmmm I may have to do half tomorrow :)
